Dollywood is a theme park that Dolly Parton puts her stamp of approval on, in Pidgin Forge, TN. It’s a beautiful park that’s very relaxing and has several great roller coasters. Izzy road her first real coaster there and it was also her first time to go upside down. She has the thrill ride bug now!
Again, all of these images are from my phone (Samsung Galaxy S4).
Obligatory theme park entrance sign photo.
Jen, Izzy, and Gillian
I watched this little water fall (can it be called that?) for about 10mins. It was very relaxing
Robert F. Thomas Chapel – “Items found throughout the chapel have a unique history of their own. The windows were first used in the Nancy Academy, the first secondary school in Sevier County. They were donated by D.D. Butler, a Sevier County farmer and businessman. The doors are from the old Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and originally made by the church’s trustees around 1890. The chapel’s bell was first used in Sevier County’s Williamsburg Academy School; the pews are from the former Sevier County Courthouse.”
The blacksmith! I really enjoyed this display. I remembered this from the first time I visited Dollywood as a kid.
Bald Eagle, they have several eagles in the park.
Close-up of the detail work. This thing was stunning.
One of the tombstones from the graveyard display.
“Izzy, go hop in the coffin and play dead” she couldn’t manage it haha
The biggest roller coaster the park had and it was shutdown for, wait for it, ready now – wasps!
This coaster’s last quarter of the ride was done in reverse! I really enjoyed it, as did my brother and Izzy, but Jen wasn’t so thrilled about going in reverse.
